When it is necessary for us to camp, our sleeping quarters will be on top of Apollo. Maggiolina is a roof top tent system that is made in Italy and has been around since the 1950s, although they are not that well-known in the States.  It weights only 120 lbs., is made of fiberglass, has three entrances and plenty of mosquito nets, contains a full size mattress, and practically opens itself once the latches are released.  It’s pretty amazing. More information on the Maggiolina Air Top (the style we have) can be found at the AutoHome website.  In addition to the “installation” pictures on the Apollo: Pictures page, here are some pics of our Maggiolina (we call her Maggi).  If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

We have the same car and are about to embark on a mammoth trip next year. We are looking at tents at the moment and are likely to get the same model as you, in Medium. What size is yours just so we can gauge how much room it will take up on the roof?

Great website BTW, enjoying it a lot.
